Depart from Saigon, travel by car down to the Mekong Delta area. The approximately 300 km trip from Saigon to the forest takes you around seven to eight hours drive crossing most of the delta provinces such as Vinh Long, Can Tho, Dong Thap. The trip is quite lengthy and need to cross two river ferries (Vam Cong & Tac Cau Ferry) but it is worth to see the landscapes on the way as well as people daily lives on the way. Lunch en route.

The national park is one of only a few protected tropical mangrove forests left in the world. It contains 252 species of flora, 202 different insect species, 24 animal species and 185 kinds of birds, many of which are rare, some have been listed in the red book.

There is also a 44-hectare bird sanctuary with more than 70,000 birds.
Our full day adventure takes us to visit cajuput forests, situated on a stratum of muddy coal (Some of them are still recovering after a big fire in 2002), the wet lands are full of water lilies and another type of water flower called convolvulus; packs of boars feed during the day and forest will reveal amazing birdlife and monkey colonies. You can even get close to the bird nests and see their eggs and small birds waiting for their mothers bring foods back for them.
Lunch at the restaurant at the forest entrance with local specialties such as fish and forest vegetable. After lunch take the boat to visit the bat area where several giant bats can be found here, some with arm-length wings and size as large as medium size chickens.
Afternoon, check out the forest and head back to Rach Gia town for a comfortable sleep.
